Horde-side it's absolutely dead. Alliance has more RP and activity overall, but the server has a LOT of toxic people in it now, and a lot of people who mock and insult RPers. That makes no sense. It is an RP server. WrA is great for both factions. Wyrmrest Accord has a good Horde population, Alliance is so so.

Dalaran wow has outdated inferior scripts and low pop, while Cromiecraft is still in its lvling phase (they release 10 by 10 lvls every few months or so) with sub 1k pop at best and by now is considered a meme in the community. So choose the highest population one with the faction balance towards what you want to play. This will give you the widest selections of guilds to join, and the healthiest auction house, and there are really no negatives.
